With all the distractions that exist today, it's often difficult to stop, ponder, and then evaluate where we stand in our romantic lives. What do we really want from our relationships? Specifically, do our relationships (romantic or not) truly bring significantly more meaning and value to our lives?
At LMP, we believe that unparalleled happiness and love can be found through a mutually loving and FHIT partnership. We understand that finding this relationship can be a trying process. Amidst the severely disenfranchised LGBTQ population, a significant lack of affirming role-models has greatly contributed to the health disparities that exist today including: substance abuse & addiction, homelessness, prostitution, depression, HIV/STDs, and even suicide. There must be a trusted resource, an anchor, or light to secure a healthier future for the LGBTQ population. Our core values are designed to do just that! We're an organization the LGBTQ population can go to for trusted guidance and critical resources. We believe developing a committed FHIT long-term relationship is absolutely essential for the success of any population.
/ Integrative Approach
Our goal is to simplify this process by offering quality online and offline trusted LGBTQ resources geared toward integration. One's relationship can truly flourish with caring community support and advocacy. Our hope is that we can bring together families, communities, churches, and other organizations to confront LGBTQ segregation allowing for healthier, happier LGBTQ populations everywhere.
/ Tradition of Diversity
The president, in his autobiography, has emphasized: As a society, we owe our proudest achievements to the endless variety of human perspectives and experiences. Yet, few of us are brought up to trust and value our own uniqueness.
Here at LMP, we strive to develop each individual's unique traits. To better succeed in our relationships, we must dig deep to discover our uniqueness. We are strong proponents for human rights and, as LGBTQs, we must never be compelled to disregard our individualism. Yet, this process of self-discovery and self-appreciation of individuality can sometimes prove difficult. We're here to help!
/ Our Roots
Our organization was born in the midst of the struggle for LGBTQ equal rights in 2013. The LGBTQ population has been ostracized throughout history. During this struggle, many LGBTQs have suffered while expressing sexuality is not a choice, but inborn. There has been a backlash from social, community, and religious institutions but we must not be afraid or intimidated. We are striving to show the world sexual orientation is an important component to what makes people unique. We are all humanly different in our various personalities, appearances, intellects, spiritualities, and sexualities. We must never be persuaded to dismiss our uniqueness—not even by a single person, institution, or government. These unique qualities are what make life fascinating and diverse. May we all be encouraged to continually stand tall while fully embracing our inner-selves.
/ Historical Perspective
For centuries, because of a lack of LGBTQ familial, religious, and government support, countless LGBTQs have suffered at the hands of abandonment and oppression. LMP's leadership has seen the need for a more cohesive LGBTQ community where a sense of shared like-minded values are embraced. Today, few affirming role-models are available to help guide the LGBTQ youth and demonstrate how to successfully develop and maintain fulfilling life-long relationships. Like in past history, social influences remain much the same. Still today, countless LGBTQs are left without relationship guidance which severely diminishes opportunities for a happy and rewarding future. That time is about to change significantly. We're here as a voice of action. For a healthy LGBTQ population, together we must strategically act to strengthen the relationships that exist while offering resources for future loving LGBTQ
relationships in their respective communities.
The tools and resources we offer, as well as our key referrals, are a significant guide for improved LGBTQ health and well-being.
